“Guardian by the Bay” reimagines Singapore’s symbol of Merlion constructed on top of an artificial mountain overlooking the city liken to Christ the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro. With waste energy and desalination plant underneath covered in greeneries and photovoltaic trees, the Merlion leverages on its tourist magnet ability to invite people up for a climb, offering more than just a perfect photo spot, but a pilgrimage through the working gears behind the resiliency of the country. Constructed over the iconic Gardens by the Bay, the Merlion has becomes the Guardian that protects and inspires the country (symbolically and literally).
